To make sure timesheets go to the right place in payroll software, ClickTime uses special ID numbers for both employees and job sites:
Every employee in ClickTime has a unique ID called the External Payroll ID.
This ID helps match the employee’s timesheet with their record in your payroll system (like MYOB, Xero, or KeyPay).
Think of it like a fingerprint—no two employees have the same one.
Each job site in ClickTime also has its own unique ID called the Site External ID.
This ID connects the location where someone worked to the matching job number or site code in other payroll systems.
It’s especially useful if you want to track hours by location or job number.
They make sure the right person gets paid for the right shift at the right place.
They help payroll teams avoid mix-ups and make reporting easier.
You can choose to include or leave out the Site ID in your export—depending on how your payroll system is set up.
A "Site" is a unique work location with detailed operational data.
ClickTime uses the Site External ID to match these locations with job numbers or site codes in external payroll systems.
ClickTime supports flexible export formats to suit different payroll workflows:
Includes both employee and job site identifiers
