FAQs

Geofence Exit Behavior on iOS

  1. iOS typically requires ~100 meters of movement beyond the geofence radius before firing an exit event.
  2. If your geofence radius is 210 meters, the exit event will usually not fire until the device is roughly 310 meters from the center.
  3. The app does not control geofence events. All geofence enter/exit detections are handled entirely by the operating system, and Clicktime can not force or prevent these events. The OS decides when to fire them.
Understanding Location Accuracy

When you receive a high location with accuracy ≈ 200 meters or more, it did not come from GPS.
Mobile location services are not limited to GPS only. They combine multiple sources:
GPS: 5–15 meters accuracy
WiFi geolocation: ~40–100 meters accuracy
Cell tower triangulation: ~1000 meters accuracy
A location with accuracy ~900 meters almost always comes from cell tower triangulation, which is the least accurate source.

Wi‑Fi and Accuracy
  1. Keeping WiFi enabled is strongly recommended, even if the device is not connected to any network.
  2. WiFi improves location accuracy significantly because the OS uses nearby Wi‑Fi access points for positioning.
  3. With WiFi disabled, the OS often falls back to cell towers, resulting in very poor accuracy (hundreds of meters).
Do I get auto clocked in if I spend a short time at a geofence?

Auto clock‑in depends on how your company has configured the Clock‑in/Clock‑out settings and the dwell time (the minimum number of minutes you must remain at the job site to count as a Clock-In). For example, if the dwell time is set to 5 minutes, the app will automatically clock you in only after you have stayed within the geofence for 5 minutes or longer.

What Happens if i entered the jobs site and my phone was turned off, then

Does this rule work if there is no internet connection?

No. In order to be auto clocked in the phone will require an active internet connection and your GPS or location service is turned ON.
