Why sometimes for some employees ClickTime is not tracking the employee's movements during the shifts? It is only tracking clock in and out time?

Possible reasons

Possible reasons why you can not see the employee route and movements on Google maps during the shift:

  • App Permission issue. Please make sure you give the ClickTime App the right and maximum location permission. ClickTime needs to be granted the correct location permission: 'Always On' or "Allow only while using the app'

  • Power saving mode is ON
           Power Saving Mode disables some important functions like networks, background data,
           and can affect GPS. In order to use the ClickTime app and use the GPS feature, you must disable
           low power mode
           Disable Low Power, Battery Saving, or Optimization Modes
           
          iPhone
           Go to Settings Battery > ensure Low Power Mode is toggled off. If you have Battery saver
          apps, ensure the permissions are set to not include the QuickBooks Time app.

          Android:
          Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > All Apps > tap ClickTime > Battery > 
          Optimize Battery usage >   Make sure ClickTime is NOT optimized.

  • Poor GPS signal. The employee is at a place where there is  poor internet and GPS signals
  • Phone Reception. The employee was at a location with no phone reception (Shopping mall, underground...etc). Some phone internet & GPS will be jammed. Employees will need to restart their mobile device or reset their connection by enabling and disabling the Airplane mode for few seconds. 
  • Net connection if OFF. The mobile device internet connection was turned off.
  • Mobile Device turned OFF. The mobile device GPS was turned off after clocking in.
  • App Background Refresh if OFF. The employee turned OFF the background app refresh for the ClickTime app. Check below link on how enable this on your device type.


No Activity
On the web application dashboard and on the time attendance screen, ClickTime will report the 'No Activity.
The No Activity means that the employee could have made any of the above-mentioned action for more than one hour – which prevents our system from capturing their location.







iPhone 
For iOS users, please advise your employees to update their software to the latest iOS version, as there is an iOS bug on the older versions (15.0 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4) that sometimes may affect the iOS system to send/capture activity/locations
