Why ClickTime Australia Requests Permissions on Your Phone

ClickTime mobile app permissions

QuoteNote: This configuration applies only to clients and users who use manual clocking in and out for their timesheets. It is not intended for clients or users who rely on ClickTime’s Auto Clock‑In/Out feature. If your organization uses Auto Clock‑In/Out, follow the Auto Clocking configuration and troubleshooting guidance instead

When you first install and use ClickTime Australia on your mobile device, the app may request certain permissions to deliver its full functionality — including location access for GPS and GeoFencing, photo and video access for clock‑in/out verification or attachments, and notifications for shift reminders and updates. This guide explains why each permission is needed, how it supports features like time attendance, incident reporting, and digital signatures, and how to re‑enable permissions if they were accidentally declined.

Why does Clicktime request these permissions on my phone?

When you start to use the ClickTime application, you may be asked to allow ClickTime to perform some phone functions. These allow the ClickTime app to fully function especially when it comes to GPS, GeoFencing, uploading photos and employee signature.

Photos and Videos

Depending on your company setting, you might be asked to capture your photo when you start and finish your shifts in addition you can attach photos and videos to incidents report, DAR or Leave Request that you create however to do this you will need to allow ClickTime to access the photos and video on your phone. You will need to allow access to all photos on your phone

Location

Depending on your company setting, this permission is only triggered when you start or end your shift is for timesheet purposes.

Notifications

This needs to be enabled in order for the user to receive push notifications for clock-in reminders, GeoFence reminders, schedule updates, any reasons they get clocked out, etc

When your manager or supervisor posts a message for you via the News Feed, Post Order or Toolbox talk, you'll be notified about it straight away on your phone via a push notification from the ClickTime app.

How do I turn ON the permissions if I accidentally did not allow them?

Go to your phone's Settings then the Applications list and tap on the ClickTime app in the list.
From here, you can toggle the permissions, such as notifications, location, Photos...etc as desired
