Why I get an error message that employee email already exists when I'm trying to add them?

Why am I getting an error message that an employee's email already exists when I'm trying to add them? 

This can happen when you add and define a user with a particular email count, and then try to add the same user as an employee with the same already used email account. You may add the employee by using an alternative email address.
